I’ve always felt that, despite their convenience, QR codes are unsightly at best. The visual data they encode cares not for the design in which it is held; the only stipulation is that the visuals operate on a legible set of rules. I figured, why not make them more beautiful, and beyond that, customizable to the tastes of the person or corporation using them?

This project doesn’t seek to define a new aesthetic; really, it is meant to show the possibility of this relationship between abstract forms and digital information. I could see this tool being used as a visual touchpoint for any brand or institution that seeks to increase the breadth of its identity.
